Monroe Consulting Group has been named a finalist for best In-House Training at the Global Recruiter Asia-Pacific Awards 2017.
The award recognises “unparalleled training and development for recruitment consultants.” Successful entrants must provide proof of: Training that moves a recruiter forward in their career and increases their effectiveness; training tailored to a workforce; and monitoring and evaluation of training to ensure effectiveness.
Monroe Group Managing Director Andrew Hairs said he was delighted to have been nominated in the important category for a second successive year.
“Training and the development of our executive recruitment consultants is at the heart of our successful business operations and is something that we are dedicated to continually investing in and refining,” he said.
Andrew said the company had had great success in developing professional recruitment skills at the entry, consultant and managerial levels, which had benefited the individual recruitment consultants on a professional level, and the wider business.
“We take young professionals primarily from non-recruitment backgrounds and provide superior in-house training methodologies to mold them into high-performing recruitment professionals, “Andrew said. “And the training and mentorship continues throughout their careers, which has helped many of our consultants develop to division heads and even country managing directors.”
He said that training needed to be tailored to suit beginner, advanced and leadership levels, as well as the specific requirements of working in emerging economies.
“We have developed more than 100 individual training modules, which are delivered through classroom, webinar and E-learning training, all driven by our full time in-house trainer and managing directors,” he said. “All training courses are then assessed via online assessments or task-driven assessments that are appraised by a manager.”
Andrew said the professional development programme revolved around the “Monroe Hub,” which provided a platform to monitor the professional development of every individual within the company, regardless of the country they were located in.
“This website contains all the training modules available, assessments and performance appraisals. The automated reports allow us to monitor the strengths and weaknesses of our team, allocate more training resources where they are required most and identify people who are ready for promotion.”
He said the success of the programme was reflected in the strength of the company and its 150 recruitment consultants throughout the Asia-Pacific, with all second-tier management starting with the company as trainee consultants. In addition, two county managing directors had similarly started as trainee consultants, he added.
