Executive search agency Monroe Consulting Group China held its first Open Interview hiring event at its Shanghai office in a successful bid to attract ambitious fresh university graduate to the world of executive recruitment.
The search for potential new headhunters began with entertaining opening ice breakers to introduce themselves to the rest of the group, with executive recruitment consultants from the headhunting agency giving an overview of the agency and why a career in executive search might be a suitable career option.
Next it was time for the group case study – participants were paired up and asked to analyse a business case before presenting their action plans and recommendations for addressing the problem posed.
Monroe China recruitment consultants were impressed by the teamwork, logical analysis and diversity of thought on display, with pairs persuasively debating their positions.
The hiring event finished with an interpretation of the results of online assessments participants were asked to complete prior to the event.
Monroe China Managing Director Kelly Liu said she was encouraged by the positive feedback and interest from participants in both the executive recruitment industry and the executive search agency itself.
“At Monroe Consulting we are always looking for ways to improve, so we sent feedback forms to all participants to elicit ideas for making our future hiring events even more successful,” she said.
“One participant replied, ‘It was the most interesting interview I have ever attended. It helped me understand what Monroe China does and what they can offer and I am now super interested in working as a headhunter’.”
Monroe China will be holding additional hiring events for potential executive recruitment consultants.
“Fun, money and doing something that matters is why you should work in the recruitment industry,” Kelly said.
