Monroe Consulting Group, an executive search firm, is hiring for a company involved in investment, e-commerce, and retail. Our respected client is looking for an Accountant to join their team and offers remote work options.

Job Summary: A General Accountant is a vital role in any organization, responsible for the day-to-day accuracy and analysis of financial data. They wear many hats, ensuring the smooth operation of an organization's financial system.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Financial Transactions and Reporting:

  • Process financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and identify discrepancies
  • Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements
  • Analyze financial data and generate reports on revenue, expenses, and financial health

Financial Controls and Procedures:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial data
  • Comply with accounting standards and regulations
  • Oversee the closing of the books at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end

Analytical and Communication Skills:

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and make recommendations
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts to support financial planning
  • Communicate complex financial information to management in a clear and concise way
  • Collaborate with other departments on financial matters

Additional Responsibilities:

  • May assist with tax preparation or provide support during external audits
  • Stay up-to-date with accounting software and best practices
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and data security


Key Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
  • Proven experience in general accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero)
