Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia's Industrial Division is recruiting on behalf of a multinational leader in the precision instruments industry.

Our esteemed client is seeking an Application Specialist (Analytical Chemistry) with at least 2 years of experience in analytical chemistry instruments. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing application services and technical support to customers locally.

Job Summary

The Application Specialist will play a crucial role in pre- and post-sales application support, ensuring customer satisfaction and technical expertise in laboratory solutions. They will work closely with the sales and service teams to provide technical consultation, workflow development, and customer training while staying up to date with laboratory regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre- and post-sales application support for laboratory solutions in the local market.

  • Work closely with sales and service teams to deliver high-value solutions and customer satisfaction.

  • Respond quickly to technical inquiries and follow up on technical leads.

  • Provide consultation on product solutions and applications to prospects and customers.

  • Develop and support laboratory workflows, including onsite requirements gathering, process definition, and implementation.

  • Coordinate and conduct advanced customer training.

  • Manage and coordinate cross-SBU integration projects.

  • Engage in laboratory management within the organization.

  • Stay updated with laboratory regulations such as MPRA, USP, FDA, MHRA, and data integrity topics.

Strategic Outcomes:

  • Successfully apply product application knowledge, industry-specific standards, and regulatory compliance.

  • Support sales teams in achieving targets and key performance indicators.

  • Combine technical expertise with sales skills to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the support and sales process.

Technical Advisory:

  • Provide technology evaluations in the sales process, working closely with sales teams.

  • Serve as a key technical advisor and product advocate.

  • Communicate regulatory compliance requirements effectively to customers.

  • Represent the organization at product trainings, conferences, seminars, and courses.

  • Provide technical training and development to customers' staff.

  • Conduct testing and data analysis on customer samples and prepare reports.

Service Standards:

  • Conduct pre-sales groundwork to understand customer needs and requirements.

  • Analyze and improve cost-benefit ratios of equipment, services, and processes in customer environments.

  • Demonstrate cost reductions and operational improvements to gain customer acceptance.

  • Ensure compliance with site operating procedures, safety, and environmental regulations.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Science, or a relevant field.

  • 2-3 years of experience in a laboratory, application support, or laboratory environment.

  • Knowledge of lab processes, including experiment planning, report creation, and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

  • Strong technical and business acumen, with the ability to identify potentials and devise solutions.

  • Independent, with strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills.

  • Willing to travel within Malaysia (primarily the southern region) as required.

  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively and maximize team synergy.
