Business Intelligence Analyst (WFH)
Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a global leader in manufacturing industry. The company is a diversified global enterprise with a strong presence in the food and manufacturing space. Company's battery group consists of several international market operations backed by a fully-integrated state-of-the-art battery factory based in the Philippines. This role will be an integral part of the North American Business Planning Group (NABPG) and will partner with top management from the assigned market.
Job Summary
This role will take a leadership position managing a business intelligence team centered on providing insights and aiding in business decision making. This role oversees business analytics projects and processes that provide data-driven insights related to business performance used to advise and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives. This manager is expected to lend significant subject-matter expertise to enhance projects with insightful takeaways and perspective.
Essential Duties:
The following are the components and main functions of the Business Intelligence team. While analysts may focus on one of the functions listed, they are anticipated to possess the ability to comprehend all functions to attain a full systems perspective of the organization.
Operations Research and Analysis
- Uses statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis to develop and deploy tools including dashboards, infographics, reports, and models to inform and support decision-making.
- Mines, processes, and analyzes internal and external data using KPIs, business results, industry sources, competitor intelligence, and customer information.
- Develops a good understanding of the business's model, objectives, issues, and challenges by interacting and collaborating with users and stakeholders.
- Coordinates with the US Supply Chain Manager regarding best freight options from available networks, which include Ocean Shipping, Inland Trucking, and Warehousing
- Conducts research and analysis for maintaining inventory targets per SKU
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Responsible for North America financial and commercial reporting/analytics. This includes: Financial Statements Analyses, Monthly Business Reports, Financial Dashboards, Scenario Analyses, Forecasting/Budgeting, and Investment Analyses.
- Delivers periodic presentations to the North American senior leadership team and the enterprise executive committee
- Participates in the budget planning and strategic planning of the group
- Liaises with functional teams across the entire group to consolidate data and information. These include: Accounting, Technical, Marketing & Sales, Operations, other markets, etc.
Commercial Analysis
- Performs analysis on sales and customer trends. Works with the Sales Director to understand and gain insight on performance on volume, revenue, and other commercial KPIs
- Manages sales dashboards and drives projects to improve the quality or efficiency of data gathering and presentation
- Conducts pricing analysis in coordination with Sales, Finance, and Operations
- Creates forecasts by utilizing feedback from the sales and customer service team and combining historical data with statistical analysis
- Prepares and presents reports to the management team regarding commercial performance and projections
Project Management
- Monitors critical projects of the Business Intelligence Team
- Maintains a detailed project roster with timelines, accountability matrices, budgets, and milestones
- Coordinates with different project team members and drives the timely execution of tasks and workstreams
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry experience in manufacturing, consumer goods and/or automotive parts
- Previous experience in people management
- Experience working in an ERP integrated planning & scheduling environment, preferably SAP HANA
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Business Administration, Management Engineering, or other Management-related courses from a top-ranked university
- At least 1-3 years cumulative experience in financial or commercial analysis, management consulting, investment banking, strategy roles, or other related fields. We may consider high potential fresh graduates for the junior analyst position
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, able to mentor others on practical applications of theory
- Previous experience in financial and data modelling, with expert command of Microsoft Excel, and basic knowledge of PowerBI or other dashboarding tools
- Demonstrates the ability to mentor and coach others, as well as learn from others
- Excellent story-telling ability and is able to communicate complex ideas into clear and understandable points of discussion
