Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia's Industrial Division is recruiting on behalf an established engineering firm specializing in diesel engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services and vessel maintenance management.

As the Head of Service, the wining candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing our MRO operations, ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You will lead a team of skilled engineers and technicians, drive operational excellence, and foster a customer-centric culture to uphold our reputation as industry leaders in diesel engine maintenance and vessel management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the service department, ensuring the efficient delivery of MRO services for diesel engines and vessels.
  • Develop and implement service strategies that align with company goals, focusing on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain service standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety requirements.
  • Optimize service processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Monitor and analyze service performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Oversee the resolution of complex customer issues and complaints, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and supply chain, to improve service delivery and customer experience.
  • Mentor and develop team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Prepare and manage the service department budget, optimizing resource allocation and controlling costs.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key service clients, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling services.
  • Proactively seek out and develop new business opportunities, including exploring government contracts and public sector partnerships, in collaboration with the CEO and independently.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in service management, preferably within the MRO, diesel engine, or marine industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team of professionals.
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of managing budgets and achieving financial targets.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Certification in Project Management or other relevant certifications is a plus.
