Our client is seeking a Sales Engineer with strong technical expertise and customer focus skills to manage existing accounts, acquire new customers, and provide technical support. A deep understanding of the product line is required to effectively address customer needs and provide solutions.
Job Summary
As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for driving sales efforts, managing project pipelines, and providing technical advisory and product advocacy. You will qualify new leads, manage existing accounts, and ensure customer requirements are met with tailored solutions. You will also represent the company's products at events and promote customer relationships through consultative selling.
Job Responsibilities
Sales and Marketing
- Manage existing accounts and consistently update sales pipelines.
- Qualify database and update CRM system.
- Establish new accounts by identifying potential customers and planning sales call schedules.
- Identify customer requirements by establishing rapport and understanding key needs.
- Support the Team Leader in executing marketing campaigns, lead generation, and management.
- Provide and present product and technical information to potential and existing customers.
Technical Advisory and Product Advocacy
- Actively drive and manage project pipelines.
- Provide technical evaluations during the sales process, collaborating with the technical support team.
- Serve as a key technical advisor and advocate for the company's products.
- Communicate regulatory compliance requirements and applications effectively, demonstrating expertise in the relevant fields.
- Interact with customers' engineering teams to present product value propositions.
- Represent products at field events such as conferences and seminars.
- Develop customer staff by providing technical information and training.
- Conduct negotiations to secure win-win agreements with customers.
Service Standards and Customer Relationship Management
- Analyze cost-benefit ratios of equipment and services, recommending changes to improve customer operations.
- Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and customer documents.
- Gain customer acceptance by demonstrating cost reductions and operational improvements.
- Maintain records of customer communication and sales activity in the CRM system.
Job Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering (preferably Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering, or related field).
- Basic knowledge of Control Instrumentation Systems (sensors, transmitters).
- Familiarity with Data Communication Protocols (fieldbus, TCP/IP, Analog & Digital output signals).
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience in a technical sales environment or similar capacity.
- Proven experience in industrial equipment sales within manufacturing industries.
- Sound understanding of manufacturing workflows and architecture.
- Ability to manage sales projects and tenders effectively.
- Willingness to travel within Malaysia.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Valid driving license.
