Executive recruitment consultant at Monroe Consulting Group is working with one of our clients, a Multinational Footwear Company. Our respected client is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Operations Director to oversee the entire manufacturing operations at our footwear manufacturing facilities in Cikupa and Central Java. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production, maintenance, quality, and PPIC, with the ability to manage all aspects of the operations effectively. This role requires someone who can lead by example, has a deep understanding of factory setups, and is capable of ensuring profitable and controlled operations. Experience in footwear or garment manufacturing is highly preferred. This job will be based in Cikupa, Tangerang.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations including production, maintenance, quality control, and PPIC, ensuring efficiency, quality standards, and profitability.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that drive performance improvement, cost control, and productivity across all departments.
- Hands-on leadership to ensure all operational activities are managed effectively and that the team follows best practices.
- Control all aspects of production ensuring on-time delivery, optimizing resources, and reducing waste.
- Ensure machinery maintenance and optimization as the biggest asset, working closely with the maintenance team to avoid downtime.
- Lead the setup and expansion of new production lines as part of the company's expansion plans for the following year, with frequent travel to ensure smooth operations in all locations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams in production, planning, and quality assurance to ensure all manufacturing processes are efficient and scalable.
- Implement quality control systems that meet the company's high standards for footwear products.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a diverse team, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performance culture.
Key Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience in operations management within the footwear or garment manufacturing industry.
- A strong background in production setup is highly preferred, especially with experience in establishing production processes from the ground up.
- Solid understanding of machine maintenance and production line management - Mechanical Engineering background is preferable due to the heavy machinery involved in the production process.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team, including leading under female leadership.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to create strategies that improve operational efficiency.
- Must be fluent in English and possess strong communication skills to effectively manage teams across different regions.
- Adaptable and mobile, willing to travel between locations as required by the expansion and operational needs.
- Experience managing operations in footwear accessories manufacturing is an added advantage.
- Must be a people person, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships within the team.
