Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a prominent and established manufacturing company in the Philippines. Our respected client is seeking for a Logistic Manager that will be responsible for overseeing the 3-manufacturing branch of the organization and support the Sr. Logistics Manager in leading initiatives and strategies to enhance import operations, ensuring alignment with the freight-in targets established by the Logistics head and other senior management.

Job Summary:

The Logistics Manager oversees the company's import and intercompany operations across the Laguna and Cavite sites, as well as the Eastwood engineering center, ensuring compliance with all applicable international and local regulations. The role provides support to the Purchasing and Planning teams to meet material in-house date requirements. Additionally, the Logistics Manager reviews and approves fully-audited freight invoices valued below of a certain amount from various service providers before payment processing by Finance and before final approval by the Logistics Director for invoices. Serving as the secondary point of contact for all logistics providers, the Logistics Manager addresses shipment and service-related concerns. Furthermore, the role supports and monitors the Import and Billing teams in achieving their goals and KRA/KPIs as defined by the PH Logistics head.

Main responsibilities:

Oversee Daily Import Operations

  • Effectively manage job distribution and resource allocation to optimize productivity levels.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all import policies and procedures.
  • Supervise the performance of the Import Supervisor and staff to coordinate shipments with vendors, forwarders, and cross-dock operators, ensuring timely delivery and execution.
  • Oversee all import activities by maintaining close coordination with internal stakeholders such as Purchasing and Planning, as well as external vendors.

Manage Factory Freight-In Performance

  • Equip Buyers, Planners, and Purchasing teams with the necessary tools to determine the most cost-effective shipping methods based on the required Material In-House (MIH) dates.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of all AFA/ATS requests, particularly for expedited shipments, by validating their MIH.
  • Assist in the close monitoring and reporting of expedited air shipments.
  • Generate and distribute weekly freight-in performance reports to Purchasing, comparing actual performance against targets set by top management.

Review and Approve Import Freight Invoices

  • Verify and authorize freight invoices below US$5,000 based on existing quotations before submission to the Finance A/P group.
  • Validate the month-end freight-in report before presenting it to the PH Logistics head and subsequent submission to Finance.

Enhance Freight Tracking Systems

  • Lead ongoing improvements to the freight tracking system to minimize manual processes and ensure accurate data collection, integrating with the company's primary order processing system-Oracle.

Oversee Local Transfer Operations

  • Monitor intercompany transfers to ensure all scheduled trips are completed without disruption.
  • Review monthly outsourcing and truck maintenance expenses as submitted by the supervisor to ensure cost efficiency.

Manage Regulatory and Compliance Requirements

  • Prepare and formalize correspondences with regulatory agencies such as PEZA and the Bureau of Customs, as well as with suppliers, to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Address any compliance issues proactively to avoid penalties or operational disruptions.
  • Foster strong working relationships with forwarders, brokers, and government agencies to support daily operations effectively.

Oversee Eastwood Logistics Operations

  • Support the logistics needs of the Engineering site by importing and delivering raw materials essential for new product designs based on customer requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive assistance for export shipments requiring special licenses before dispatch.


Qualifications:

  • Any 4 year business course
  • Experienced in Import/Export Regulations certification; ITC training; International Traffic/Logistics citation
  • Supply Chain Management: Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics coordination.
  • Marine & Insurance Policies: In-depth knowledge of marine cargo insurance and related policies to mitigate risks in international trade.
  • International Logistics Expertise: Extensive experience and understanding of global logistics operations, including customs regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Air and Shipping Line Policies & Schedules: Proficiency in navigating air and sea freight policies, schedules, and best practices to ensure timely deliveries.
