Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a prominent and established manufacturing company in the Philippines. Our respected client is seeking for a Sr. Logistic Manager that will be overseeing and directing all operations related to the movement of raw materials, finished products, and equipment in and out of the factory facilities in Cavite and Laguna, while also providing logistics support to the EDC, ensuring full compliance with company and government policies and procedures.

Job Summary:

The Sr. Logistics Manager will collaborate with senior leaders across various departments to optimize supply chain efficiency and ensure cost-effective service delivery. Oversees carrier performance, drives process improvements, and supports cost reduction initiatives. Serves as the Global Trade Compliance Officer (GTC) for Asia Pacific, ensuring compliance with US import/export regulations. Manages transportation and logistics budgets for Philippine operations, reporting to the Managing Director and Global Logistics Director.

Main responsibilities:

Accountable for achieving and surpassing freight and transportation budgets for Philippine operations

  • Reports logistics and freight performance, including challenges and opportunities, to the COO during monthly Philippine Cost Reviews.
  • Leads strategic logistics programs in the Philippines, collaborating with Directors and Senior Managers to drive freight cost reduction initiatives.
  • Manages transportation and logistics expenses exceeding USD 4.5 million.
  • Develops innovative systems and processes to minimize abnormal or unauthorized freight expenditures.
  • Regularly benchmarks freight rates to ensure cost efficiency, working with developmental suppliers to create innovative supply chain solutions for improved costs.
  • Equips Buyers, Planners, and Purchasing teams with the necessary tools to determine the most cost-effective shipping methods based on the required Material In-House (MIH) date

Directs department resources to coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, Production Planning & Control (PPC), Production, New Products, Engineering, and QA teams for finished goods shipment arrangements, including those stored at centralized warehouses.

  • Ensures seamless execution of documentation, operations, and system transactions in Oracle and E-trace Systems by overseeing the Export team.
  • Collaborates with New Products, Program Managers, and Engineering teams to facilitate the timely movement of pilot engineering units between factory and R&D centers (US, CN, EW), ensuring faster evaluations and customer delivery compliance.
  • Provides last-mile support to help Philippine operations meet or exceed revenue targets, ensuring smooth monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Manages the Philippine FG Centralized Warehousing operations, which were fully taken over from a third-party logistics provider in 2018 to enhance cost control, inventory accuracy, and shipping documentation efficiency. This model, initially developed in 2005, was later replicated in Hong Kong in 2007.

Oversee all material receiving and movement processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

  • Ensure timely delivery of raw materials and prototypes to Philippine factories, optimizing costs and using efficient methods (ocean freight, air, courier, ground transport) based on vendor locations. Support internal customers (production and planning) and manage exceptions to avoid production delays.
  • Collaborate with Receiving teams to validate deliveries against invoices and documents, resolve discrepancies, and file claims when necessary. Coordinate with government agencies (e.g., CAAP, PEZA, Customs) to ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and report suspicious cargoes.
  • Represent the company at local government offices for regulatory matters or inspections related to critical shipments.
  • Attend meetings of the Philippine Semiconductor Association of Traffic Managers to stay updated on industry issues and collaborate with agencies to resolve them.
  • Ensure compliance with trade regulations and manage deviations to maintain the company's good standing.

Drive Strategic Supply Chain Initiatives

  • Conceptualize and support logistics projects to improve spending at Philippine factories and engineering centers, in alignment with global logistics goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across departments to improve efficiency in the Philippine supply chain.
  • Conduct annual refresher training on international commercial terms for key departments to align goals on freight, inventory control, and revenue maximization.
  • Evaluate corporate logistics programs to ensure their applicability and benefit to Artesyn's operations.
  • Monitor and report on supply chain program progress, develop systems with MIS for accurate logistics cost reporting, and enable informed decision-making.

Manage Resources to Meet Operational Targets

  • Oversee the logistics team to ensure smooth shipment coordination and timely deliveries.
  • Allocate resources effectively to optimize productivity across the 42-person team.
  • Set team goals, monitor performance, provide mentoring, and conduct performance reviews to foster skill development, identify training needs, and plan for succession.


Qualifications:

  • Any 4 year business course
  • At least 10 years of experience in international logistic management
  • Must be in semiconductor or electronics industry with exposure in SMT or PCB assembly.
  • Experienced in Import/Export Regulations certification; ITC training; International Traffic/Logistics citation
  • Supply Chain Management: Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics coordination.
  • Knowledgeable in Government and Regulatory policies and Global trade compliance
  • Expertise in Financial and project management
