Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of a global company that provides innovative products, raw materials, and expertise to the bakery, patisserie, and chocolate sectors. Our client is currently seeking a Purchasing Officer. The successful candidate for this key role will play a pivotal part in developing monthly supply planning strategies aimed at optimizing inventory levels. This is a hybrid work setup based in Taguig, Monday through Friday.

Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the Purchasing Officer will be crucial in developing monthly supply planning strategies to optimize inventory levels. Focusing on driving cost competitiveness, the role involves leading purchasing activities and processes. This multifaceted position includes preparing comprehensive monthly inventory reports, outlining current status and future projections, and collaborating with relevant colleagues to implement improvement plans. The role demands purchasing expertise, highlighting its importance in organizational efficiency and financial success.

Key Responsibilities:

Supply Planning and Raw Material Sourcing

  • Develops the Monthly Requirement Plan for Finished Goods (FG) and Raw Materials (RM) based on the monthly rolling forecast.
  • Creates a raw material sourcing plan for monthly production.
  • Supervises the logistics process of raw materials in coordination with the Finished Goods supply planner.
  • Monitors stock levels and responds flexibly to forecast changes.
  • Prepares monthly inventory projections, Operations KPIs, and inventory reports.
  • Manages data related to import/export and procurement daily operations.
  • Executes purchase orders and handles import/export work orders.
  • Assists with material sourcing according to required specifications and timelines.
  • Ensures timely delivery of orders.
  • Ensures the warehouse department updates receiving reports.
  • Produces reports and data for analysis and tracking to enhance business and operational efficiencies.
  • Participates in monthly inventory counts.
  • Assists in checking raw materials and supplies availability in the warehouse for production use based on the weekly production schedule.

Cost Saving Activities and Purchase Process

  • Analyzes cost-saving potential for materials and develops and leads action plans.
  • Regularly investigates the supply market and evaluates market price trends.
  • Audits and improves internal purchase processes and policies.
  • Reports on cost-saving activities monthly and collaborates with R&D to develop competitive suppliers.
  • Monitors 3PL suppliers' performance and develops action plans for improvement.

New Product Development with R&D

  • Leads new product development in collaboration with R&D.
  • Manages on-time launches and re-launches with competitive cost management.
  • Leads continuous improvement of the NPD process through cross-functional collaboration.

Compliance with Relevant Statutory Requirements

  • Monitors regulatory changes closely and develops implementation plans for new regulations.
  • Coordinates with QA/R&D to renew relevant artwork in compliance with regulations.
  • Participates in ad hoc projects as assigned, such as FSSC.

What We Expect From You:

Education:

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a relevant field.

Work Experience:

  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in importing/sourcing from international suppliers is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and contracts simultaneously, adeptly coordinating diverse portfolios to ensure seamless efficiency and effectiveness.
