Recruitment consultants at executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia were given an in-depth insight into Indonesia’s expanding pharmaceutical industry recently.
Pharmaceutical industry executive Regina Suseno, the former South ASEAN Diabetes Brand Leader at Eli Lilly South ASEAN Cluster, visited the offices of the international award-winning executive recruitment company for a knowledge-sharing session.
Ms Suseno started her career with Eli lilly in 2011 and rose to oversee diabetes brands in not only Indonesia but Singapore and Malaysia as well.
Andreas Saputra, who leads Monroe Indonesia’s Consumer Goods Division, said the recruitment consultants embraced the opportunity to question Ms Suseno on positives within the industry, as well as challenges from a multinational perspective.
“She shared the view that there remain challenges for even the biggest companies looking to penetrate or expand in Indonesia, which is dominated by local competitors,” Mr Saputra said.
Additional obstacles included the Indonesian National Health Insurance System (BPJS) and its use of generic drugs, as well as the weakening Indonesian currency,”
“On the positive side, she was positive about the future of the industry and the possibility for wide-spread growth and investment,” he said.
“And that is good news for us from a recruitment perspective as our specialised Health Division has extensive industry insights, connections with leading healthcare or pharmaceutical industries, and can source and recruit the very best executive talent available in the market places in which we operate, including Indonesia.”
