  • Publish Date: Posted over 6 years ago

Three experienced Indonesian executives with respective backgrounds in the online E-commerce, information technology and automotive industries called into the Jakarta offices of Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia this month as part of the executive recruitment company’s regular information-sharing sessions with industry experts.

Executive recruitment consultants and specialized division managers at Monroe Indonesia pride themselves on their expertise in recruitment and intimate knowledge of the industries and developments in the industries in which they operate, namely Industrial, Technology, Consumer Goods, Health and Professional, which covers banking, insurance and finance.

First up was Taufiq Adhie Wibowo, the “geek-in-chief” from an Indonesian unicorn technology-based company, who touched on a range of subjects during his presentation, including why he believed the online travel website was such a success and the importance of partnering with the ideal recruitment company to make the perfect hire.

Inge Sari Purnama, assistant manager of the Technology Division, said Taufik was the fourth person hired by the company’s co-founder and had helped expand the company in Indonesia and throughout Southeast Asia.

“He was offered another job opportunity in an established company, but he gambled to take the opportunity with the company because of the ‘unique’ interview session with the co-founders that showcased their vision and mission. That what attracted him.”

Inge said Taufik continued to work for the company because he believed in the company’s vision and was excited by its rapid growth.

Monroe Indonesia has worked closely with the company, placing a number of experienced and motivated professionals with the online travel website.

Inge said Taufik believed it was of the upmost importance to hire the right people, particularly people who believed in the comapany’s vision and wanted to help the company achieve it.

Hiring innovative staff who could listen to the market and adapt were also prized, he said.

“Through this, Taufik and his team bring added value to the company and most important, for their users.”

The executive recruitment consultant said Taufik also stressed the importance of enjoying the journey.

“The right people will stay and help you to build the company’s vision in serving people and inspired people to enjoy their lives.”

Matthew Tanudjaja, Software Project Lead with Japan-based LINE Corporation, also dropped in for a chat and to share his background in artificial intelligence, embedded systems, project management, information technology (IT) operations and building a startup.

Adeline, assistant manager of the Technology Division, said Matthew said it was challenging to make the right hires as demand exceeded the supply of talent.

“It is no secret that companies can struggle to fill vitally important job positions, particularly in highly technical roles,” Adeline said. “Monroe specializes in this sort of recruitment by knowing our industries and knowing who to target.”

From international technology to the automotive industry. Paulus Suranto, an expert on the automotive industry was the third speaker, sharing with Monroe’s industrial division his 19 years in the industry working for the likes of BMW, Triumph and Indomobil.

Indonesia is Southeast Asia’s largest automotive market, with new car sales of about 100,000 per month.

Tina Nugreheni, who overseas both the Technology and Industry divisions, said the automotive market was an important part of Monroe’s recruitment services, as well as many other countries that it operated in, including Malaysia and Thailand.

“Monroe has great partnerships with a number of multinational and national automotive sector, including car, motorcycle and parts manufacturers and we have placed dozens of executives in this sector.”

She said Paulus provided a detailed overview of the automotive landscape in Indonesia, from manufacturing to marketing and sales.

“His insights were invaluable and I look forward to our executive recruitment consultants implementing his suggestions on how to provide an even greater service to multinational car manufacturers.”
