Head of Actuary (Insurance)

Job Objective: Planning and coordinate the actuarial strategy for the company in line with the Company's strategic objective.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Acting as Appointed Actuary (Aktuaris).
  • Overseeing all actuarial reporting, business plan, valuation and product pricing as well as to monitor and reviewing company financial, product profitability, and supervise function actuarial reporting to guarantee accuracy and timeliness from reports delivered to management.
  • Responsible for delivering, forecasting, presenting reports of profit and new business value, analysis of variances to plan and movement by distribution channels. Effectively communicate results of analysis to peers and management across the organization, both in writing and in presentations.
  • Collaborate with the relevant divisions for the implementation of IFRS17.
  • Conduct periodic evaluation of products that have been marketed (post-launch monitoring) based on sales performance, claim ratio, profitability, and experience study.
  • Supervision of Reinsurance in terms of calculations, reporting, expansion of cooperation with reinsurance companies to increase the effectiveness of reinsurance capacity, reviewing the provisions in the reinsurance agreement periodically to increase the efficiency of reinsurance capacity, evaluate the actuarial aspects of the reinsurance process, and comply with applicable reinsurance regulation.
  • To work hand-in-hand with the Product Strategy function which aiming to grow premium income, maintain product profitability, product innovation, and to improve brands awareness in the market.
  • Maintain effective relationships with all relevant external stakeholders, maintain an external network within the Insurance industry to track emerging trends and approaches to business issues.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics/Statistics/Actuarial science with 10 years relevant professional experience required Fellow of Actuary Certification (FSAI) and certified in Risk Management.
  • Strong knowledge and exposure in Actuarial Valuation.
  • Posses' good communication skills, achievement-oriented, high-integrity, analytical thinking, team-work, leadership, interpersonal and coaching as well as fluent in English both verbal and written.
  • Experience in managing a team and this position will report to Head of Division Corporate Services and Director & Chief Financial Officer.
  • Familiar with Prophet Actuarial Software and R3S Actuarial Software.
