Head of Engineering (Financial Services)

On behalf of a leading microfinance company, Monroe Consulting Group is seeking for the Head of Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the engineering team, providing strategic direction to align with the company's business goals and technological vision.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable and secure financial technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with product management, operations, and other departments to deliver high-quality products and services.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for software development, including coding standards, testing, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD).
  • Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies and processes that enhance the company's competitive edge.
  • Manage the engineering budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with business priorities.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and excellence.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of all technology platforms, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing hands-on support when necessary.
  • Report on the status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to the executive team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the financial services industry.
  • Strong technical expertise in software development, architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in managing large, complex engineering projects from concept to delivery.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial services regulations, security standards, and industry trends.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and a strong commitment to quality and performance.
  • Ability to innovate and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
