Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group's Industrial Division is recruiting on behalf of a leading construction company. Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join their team and manage key aspects of the cost management process for their projects.
Job Summary
The Quantity Surveyor (QS) will be responsible for verifying and preparing Quantity Surveying work, performing site verification, managing variation orders, and liaising with developers and consultants to ensure projects stay within budget and meet specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Checking and Verification of Q.S. Work: Review and verify all Quantity Surveying works before submission for approval, ensuring accuracy in costing, measurements, and related submissions.
- Site Verification: Conduct site verification alongside consultants to ensure alignment with project specifications and requirements.
- Preparation of Variation Orders (V.O.): Prepare and review variation orders based on site changes, ensuring all documentation and approvals are obtained.
- Quantities Taking-Off: Perform taking-off quantities from drawings and other relevant documents for material orders.
- Liaison with Developers & Consultants: Communicate and coordinate with developers and consultants to ensure smooth workflow and problem resolution.
- Control of Building Materials: Monitor and control the procurement and usage of building materials on-site to avoid wastage and manage costs effectively.
- Tender & Sub-Contractor Price Negotiation: Assist in negotiating tender prices, sub-contractor prices, and supplier prices to achieve cost savings and maintain project budgets.
- Checking & Confirmation of Variation Orders: Validate and confirm the prices and terms for variation orders, ensuring they align with the project scope and budget.
- Other Duties: Perform any other duties as directed by management, contributing to the overall success of the project.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
