Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia is recruiting on behalf of a leading provider of pharmaceutical services globally. Our distinguished client is looking for an ambitious and experienced professional to join the team as a Regional Procurement Manager to oversee the company's procurement operations, devise and execute sourcing strategies to support business growth. This person will report to the Operations Director and will be based in Selangor, Malaysia.

You will manage key supplier relationships, look for exclusive supply opportunities, supply differentiators and support the project management function with all key enquiries.

Job Responsibilities:
Regional Sourcing Strategy:

  • Collaborate with Head of Strategic Sourcing to proactively find key vendors, product classes and territories within the JAPAC region to support divisional objectives.
  • Work to improve vendor payment terms and identify synergies with other companies within the group to improve buying power.
  • Improve key vendor performance through implementation and delivery of strategic objectives.
  • Always ensure supply chain integrity, maintaining as few links in the supply chain as possible and ensuring full traceability of products.
  • Identify opportunities to develop exclusive relationships with manufacturers and wholesalers.
  • Conduct regular supplier gap analysis and execute strategies to close gaps and improve our capabilities within the JAPAC region.


Vendor Management:

  • Build and manage relationships with key vendors to maximise opportunities and ensure the best pricing and terms are achieved.
  • Measure supplier performance through the implementation of KPI's. Arrange and attend periodical in-person visits with key suppliers through attendance of exhibitions and commercial meetings.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure key suppliers are periodically assessed on a risk analysis basis and audits/appraisals are scheduled accordingly.
  • Manage any ongoing investigations or disputes to a favourable outcome for the company.


Sourcing Process:

  • Manage and maintain best sourcing guidelines to ensure the most appropriate solutions are provided in a timely manner.
  • Improve and manage sourcing resources including; shared tools, databases and services to provide the most efficient and cost effective products for supply.
  • Ensure there are clear processes when working with all key suppliers, which are regularly updated to meet both the organization and supplier needs.


Customer Service:

  • Ensure world class customer service is provided both internally and externally.
  • Support unlicensed medicine access teams to agreed KPI's.
  • Ensure the timely turnaround of enquiries whilst ensuring the most effective sourcing strategy is provided.
  • Manage customer service level and set targets for all exclusive distribution agreements.


QA, Regulatory & Compliance:

  • Ensure all licenses, documentation, audits and associated QA activities are in place in support of vendor qualification
  • Work with QA, Regulatory and Technical teams to identify opportunities to improve supply chain security, compliance and integrity.
  • Work with QA to ensure key suppliers are periodically assessed on a risk analysis basis.


People Management:

  • Manage, prioritise, and complete key inquiries and projects to a high standard.
  • Develop and coach peers and direct reports encouraging a focus on sourcing solutions that maximise efficiencies within the clinical trials supply chain.


Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in procurement management within the healthcare industry.
  • Possesses the ability to build and retain relationships with vendors.
  • Strong communication and people management skills.
  • Able to work on a remote basis and out of office hours.
