Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia's Industrial & Engineering Division is recruiting on behalf of a multinational tooling company originally from the UK.
Job Summary
Our client is a leading supplier of tools and industrial supplies to a diverse portfolio of industries in Malaysia, including Automotive, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, and Engineering sectors. As part of their expansion, they are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to develop relationships and sales within the distributor network across the territory. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the manufacturing industry and excellent communication skills to build strong connections with clients and distributors.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize work and plan activities for effective territory coverage, including scheduling calls, preparing itineraries, and engaging with customers and prospects to discuss requirements and address issues.
- Arrange product demonstrations and presentations to support sales efforts.
- Take prompt action on customer issues to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities, including call reports, sales pipelines, and customer interactions.
- Submit regular and special reports on sales activities, customer issues, expenses, and other related aspects.
- Continuously review sales efforts and results to align with forecasts and territory potential.
- Conduct surveys to assess customer acceptance and sales potential for products.
- Assist office personnel in resolving issues and clarifying details related to field sales activities.
- Analyze sales trends to understand customer performance and provide value to the company and customer base.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Technical, Business, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Experience in territory development and channel management is preferred.
- Knowledge of Industrial MRO supplies, such as hand tools, power tools, PPE, cutting tools, abrasives, lubricants, chemicals, workshop equipment, and precision tools, is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office and strong computer skills.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel, including frequent trips to the South Region of Malaysia (2 weeks per month).
- Possess a valid driver's license and the ability to travel to customer locations, build rapport, and occasionally deliver products in person.
