Assistant Costing Manager

Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia's Finance & Accounting Division is recruiting on behalf of MNC and a global leader in manufacturing and oleo-chemicals. Our respected client is seeking for a costing expert for the role "Assistant Costing Manager".

Job summary
The ideal candidate will be responsible to oversee product costing, stock valuation, and budget variance analysis to support financial accuracy and operational efficiency. He/She will be providing insights that enhance profitability and streamline production KPIs. The role will be based in JB.

job responsibilities:

  • Ensuring timely submission of MIS to corporate and unit management
  • Timely submission of AOP (Revenue & Capex)
  • Assisting in finalising sale orders by providing the information related to costing on timely basis.
  • Regularly reviewing the yield % of Input Vs Output of each portfolio
  • Ensure monthly stock counts to be done and any variance has to be properly accounted in books
  • Generate monthly manufacturing reports, assessing budget vs. actual discrepancies using detailed cost-per-product and line performance analyses.
  • Manage product costing for new and existing products, collaborating with other departments.
  • Lead production-related projects, aiming to streamline and standardise KPIs through various information systems.
  • Ensuring cost accuracy and consistency for both new and existing products.
  • Deliver monthly managerial reports, analysing various factors impacting product profitability such as pricing, energy usage, and labour metrics.
  • Manage stock valuation and physical counts, providing insights into stock movement and recommending process enhancements.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, independence, and motivation.
  • Ability to provide insightful insights and recommendations for improvement.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance / Accounting / related professional qualifications (CIMA, ACCA, CPA, etc.)
  • At least 5 years working experience in costing from FMCG Industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Fluency in English is a must.
  • Outstanding strategic, numerical and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
