Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group's Professional Division is partnering with a leading financial institution that is making its mark in the investment realm. Our esteemed client is seeking an experienced professional to be their Assistant Finance Manager.
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial planning, reporting, and analysis for the company and its subsidiaries. This individual will act as a business partner to all business units, supporting financial-related requirements and activities. The role is based in Kuala Lumpur.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports for the company and its subsidiaries.
- Prepare, monitor, and analyze monthly financial performance, budgets, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the company and its subsidiaries.
- Analyze and investigate significant budget variances, identifying remedial actions when necessary.
- Assist in preparing yearly budgets and forecasts, considering relevant activity data, cost pressures, and margins to establish budgetary submissions.
- Act as a business partner, working closely with business units and senior managers to prepare business cases and bids for new ventures or internal system redesigns.
- Assist in the preparation of group budgets and forecasting.
- Support the group's financial year-end process and annual reports.
- Develop and implement new procedures and features to enhance departmental workflows.
- Ensure compliance with new accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Handle all new reporting requirements for the company and its subsidiaries, including business units.
- Assist with M&A exercises, including due diligence, analysis, and reporting.
- Maintain a solid understanding of accounting principles, including MFRS and IFRS.
- Assist and support internal and external audits, ensuring follow-up and implementation of matters arising.
- Collaborate with team members to establish annual goals and objectives.
- Support the Head of Finance on special projects or ad-hoc assignments, such as market competitor analysis.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Over 3 years of working experience, preferably in a unit trust company or financial services organization.
- Experience with Sunsystem is an added advantage.
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and possess strong analytical skills.
- Effective communicator in English, both spoken and written, across all levels.
- Able to work independently and manage long hours to meet tight deadlines.
