Indirect Commodity Manager

Executive recruitment firm Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is seeking an Indirect Commodity Manager on behalf of a global technology company specializing in precision power conversion, measurement, and control technologies.

Role Overview:

The Indirect Commodity Manager is responsible for designing and implementing sourcing strategies to ensure the continuity of indirect spend supplies, supporting business operations, internal requirements, and cost objectives. This role oversees supplier performance metrics related to quality, delivery, and cost, while managing supplier selection, performance evaluation, and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct requests for quotations, cost analysis, and price negotiations for SMT and automation machinery.
  • Process purchase requisitions, confirm purchase orders, and manage shipments.
  • Source and develop new suppliers to align with business growth.
  • Develop and administer supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with cost, schedule, performance, and service-level requirements.
  • Support global manufacturing facilities and design centers.
  • Lead purchasing projects, tenders, and supplier selection processes.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and supplier performance improvements.
  • Analyze price trends, new products, and manufacturing processes to enhance procurement strategies.
  • Oversee price negotiations and pricing decisions.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based role with general office equipment usage (PC, telephone, copier, etc.).
  • Potential travel requirements.

  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in SAP or Ariba.
  • Advanced PC skills, including Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Background in indirect purchasing, specifically for machinery.
  • Experience in supply chain management within an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in developing and executing category and commodity strategies.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders on sourcing initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills in commodity spend analysis.
  • Supplier contract management experience.
  • Familiarity with procure-to-pay processes, including purchase order issuance and supplier shipments.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth electronics industry is preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
