Key Accounts Manager (Medical Device)

Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting a Key Account Manager on behalf of a multinational medical device company specializing in surgical and critical care. The role will maximize and grow the contribution of key account revenue for the business to achieve budget targets and market share growth projections. This position will source and manage relationships with key accounts, distributors, and ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Performance

  • Growth of market share for the products and services of the business within Key Accounts
  • Contribute to annual budgeting processes

Strategic Orientation

  • Contribute to ongoing regular review of Key Account business with management team - structure, strategy, tactics, customers, products, brands.
  • Formulating, implementing and managing strategic business plans and relationships for all Key Accounts to achieve sales and profit targets for each. Identifying, assessing and recommending new Key Account opportunities and preparing business cases based on market research and intelligence along with sound analysis.
  • Working closely with the Key Accounts to determine their current and future needs and proposing suitable products, services, or business models to maintain and grow revenue and profit for the business and with key departments to complete tasks associated with retention and growth of business with the Key Account network.
  • Coordinating the preparation of sales quotes, preferred supplier agreements, bundle opportunities, tenders, bids, Contracts, reports, KPI's and account management plans with and for the Key Account network.
  • Managing multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously, interacting and maintaining the relationships with a diverse set of business partners - current or prospective.

  • Proactive communication and decision making across all businesses and departments as required


Organizational Understanding

  • Make decisions as specified in the business policies, practices and delegated authority procedures.
  • Compliance with USA FCPA governance requirements


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relating to marketing, business administration or medical-related courses
  • Must have direct sales experience in medical devices of at least 5 years; preferably in surgical / critical care portfolios
  • Able to communicate with clients at all levels and convert their needs into a comprehensive solution, together with in depth product and industry knowledge
  • Proven sales ability including outstanding negotiation skills, persuasive ability and excellent communication skills
  • Appreciate the value/importance of the account coupled with the ability to balance the needs of the business and the account
  • Strong ability to motivate and manage indirect teams across multiple functions - commercial, sales, service, marketing, and education
