Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group is partnered with an established Malaysian bank, searching for a talented and experienced professional to be their Chief Credit Officer. This candidate will provide strategic advice and support top management regarding credit management, spearheading financing approaches aligned with the Bank's goals and risk strategies. Lead credit improvement initiatives through training programs, enhancing personnel capabilities. Lead a team of Approving Authorities to guide credit decision making and uphold risk management standards

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the process of making prudent credit decisions to uphold the quality of the Bank's financing assets.
  • Champion the optimization of budget utilization to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure timely delivery of credit decision to improve the quality of the customer's experience.
  • Oversee the implementation of guidelines, developing policies, and creating procedures for extending credit to the Bank's customers.
  • Provide advice the P/CEO, and Board of Directors on credit matters and report as appropriate.
  • Ensure the credit facilities granted are for business that does not has negative impact to the environment and the community.
  • Lead the development and approval of progressive and competitive credit quality review policies and procedures.
  • Champion prudent credit decisions to ensure quality financing assets.
  • Drive and improves the credit decision making standard and processes.
  • Ensure continuous delivery and enhancement of credit modules and training programs to improve credit knowledge among the credit personnel.


Job Requirements:

  • Preferably MBA or graduate degree in Banking / Finance / Accounting / Commerce / Economics or related discipline.
  • More than 10-15 years of development banking or relevant banking experience.
  • Experience managing Credit Management in similar sized organizations
  • In depth knowledge and experience with DFIs and Islamic banking operations.
  • Strong business acumen with relevant knowledge in Credit Management, Business Planning, and Operations.
  • At ease with the abundance of details and complexity, yet mindful of the big picture.
  • Must be result oriented with a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to manage multiple complex issues
    concurrently.
  • Experience in relationship management, strong network with GLCs, government and major enterprises in
    Malaysia.
  • Good leadership and coaching skills with proven experience in building, developing, and managing high
    performance teams
