Our client seeks an experienced Head of Credit to lead and manage their Credit division in Bangkok. This position provides a unique opportunity to oversee credit activities, portfolio management, and process optimization in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
The Head of Credit will play a key role in overseeing the company's credit portfolio, managing credit and collections processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include leading end-to-end credit operations, developing team capabilities, and working closely with cross-functional teams to improve credit and collections processes. This role will also support the refinement of credit scoring systems and collaborate with the risk committee to present portfolio updates and improvement strategies. A successful candidate will bring a strong balance of commercial judgment and analytical skills to make informed credit decisions aligned with company goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day credit activities, ensuring alignment with the company's risk appetite and established limits.
- Oversee the credit portfolio, supporting cross-functional improvements to credit and collections processes.
- Lead team management efforts, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with both internal and external policies across all credit and collections functions.
- Conduct portfolio analysis and prepare reports for the risk committee, highlighting improvements.
- Partner with Product and Data teams to develop scoring systems to enhance credit decision-making.
- Engage with regulators for compliance purposes and provide thought leadership within the industry.
- Conduct credit reviews and necessary site visits, KYC checks, and account controls.
Job Requirements
- Background in Thailand SME or Corporate credit underwriting.
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership with a focus on development and performance.
- Solid understanding of credit scorecards, trade finance, and unsecured lending products.
- Strong analytical abilities combined with practical problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience in fintech or digital/alternative lending is an advantage.
- Proficiency in SAS, SQL, MS Office, and related tools is preferred
